Testing IT Controls – Order to Cash Process

What is an IT Audit?

It is an audit performed on the organization’s information technology, infrastructure, information systems, policies & the operations related to it.

It is important to perform an audit of the IT general controls to provide sufficient assurance that the controls placed by the organization are in line with the best in practice, be it automated, or semi-automated with related non-automated processes.

When we perform internal audits, we would perform testing of the IT general controls surrounding the process to make sure the Information systems put in place support sufficiently the controls placed by the organization.

We will look at IT audits in future articles. In this article, we will look at the IT controls that need to be tested while doing the Order to Cash process.
